Climbing Broga Hill at Dawn

Last Sunday me and my friends decided to hike to Broga Hill  from UNMC campus. We wanted to go there to see the sunrise. So we set out from the campus at about 5:30 in the morning. Since the gate we were intending to use was locked at the time, our first hurdle was to climb over the campus fence.

After walking about 4 km in around 45 minutes, we reached the base of the hill. I wasn’t expecting to find so many people climbing the hill that early however there were several cars parked at the base and we could see many lights at the top of the hill. By the time we were able to climb up to the first peak, it was already around 6:30 am.

The top of the hill was filled with young people like us eager to see the sunrise. The view was spectacular; you could see city lights on one side and the town of Broga on the other side. Far off into the distance, you could see even more hills. I quickly set up my camera in suitable position and waited for the sun to rise.

The sun rose at 7:30 am from behind the hills to the distance. I was able to get some nice shots with my DSLR, however my GoPro failed to shoot a timelapse for me as all the photos from it somehow turned out to be weirdly cropped.

After the sunrise, I climbed the neighbouring peaks. The highest elevation that I reached was 400m. After this we decided to head back to campus. By the time it was 9:00am. We were able to walk back to campus by 10:30am.

Do I look good?
